A Beautiful Struggle: Transformative Black Struggles in Shifting Political Landscapes
In April 2012, the Department of African American Studies, in conjunction with the Graduate School at Northwestern University, will convene the 11 doctoral programs in Africana Studies from across the United States.
“A Beautiful Struggle: Transformative Black Studies in Shifting Political Landscapes–A Summit of Doctoral Programs” is intented to be an opportunity to highlight the exceptional work of graduate students. Additionally, the conference will allow participants to engage the research and innovations of doctoral Africana Studies more broadly. Scholars from Temple, UMASS-Amherst, UC-Berkeley, Michigan State, Yale, Harvard, Brown, UPENN, University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and Indiana University-Bloomington will participate.
The Conference will be held April 12-14, 2012. More information on speakers, panels and other conference updates may be found on the website or on facebook.
